Little denies Hearts--
Andrew Little came off the bench to grab a last-minute equaliser as leaders Rangers came from behind to draw 1-1 with Hearts in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday.
The Northern Ireland internationalist pounced to deny Csaba Laszlo's men victory at Ibrox after Marian Kello had parried a Lee McCulloch shot. The visitors - who had Christian Nade sent off - had gone ahead through teenager Scott Robinson's first senior goal in 75 minutes.
John Hughes' Hibernian bounced back from last weekend's defeat at Tannadice to thrash Hamilton Accies 5-1 at Easter Road. Top scorer Anthony Stokes and Derek Riordan both scored twice and Colin Nish was also on target for Hibs before Flavio Paixao pulled one back.
Craig Brown's Motherwell ended a live TV jinx as they defeated St Mirren 2-0 in the ESPN lunchtime clash at Fir Park. Jamie Murphy and John Sutton scored in the second half as Well won at home for the first time since October. It was an eighth away defeat of the season for Saints.
Jimmy Calderwood made an unsuccessful return to Aberdeen as the seventh-placed Dons edged out Kilmarnock 1-0 at Pittodrie. A stylish goal from Derek Young early in the second half was enough to separate the two lowest-scoring sides in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
There are two games on Sunday. Falkirk will move off the bottom of the table if they take a point or better against Dundee United while second-placed Celtic go to a St Johnstone team who have not played an SPL fixture since Boxing Day. Both matches are live on Sky Sports.
Post-match reaction by managers
What the managers said after Saturday's games in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League:
Aberdeen 1-0 Kilmarnock
Mark McGhee "I thought the performance today was good. We tried to play from the back and to a large extent it was successful. We passed the ball about pretty well in the second half."
Jimmy Calderwood "The first goal was always going to be vital, which they got through a wonderful strike from Derek Young. After that it was one-way traffic and they were hanging on."
Hibernian 5-1 Hamilton Accies
John Hughes "Once we got the first goal, I felt we played some really good stuff. I think we caught Hamilton at the right time. They've come off three momentous games with Rangers."
Billy Reid "I think we were losing 5-0 with 30 minutes to go, which I couldn't quite believe. I thought we'd scored early on from a set piece - the ball just didn't go in the net."
Motherwell 2-0 St Mirren
Craig Brown "They have taken the message about resilience and no-nonsense defending. You could see very few chances created by St Mirren and it was the same against Kilmarnock."
Gus MacPherson "The biggest disappointment is the way we defended a straightforward ball into our box. We had a chance to put the ball into their box and a minute later we're 1-0 down."
Rangers 1-1 Hearts
Walter Smith "We don't drop many points at home so but, in the context of the game and the way it went today, we are happy to get a point in the end."
Csaba Laszlo "Maybe if we had a bit more experience, we wouldn't have lost the goal because Rangers only had one chance. But I must compliment my team for their performance in this game."
