SPL Weekend preview's for 30th Jan 2010--

Weekend previews plus were to watch/listen to each match match reviews posted tomorrow morning along with managers reactions.

It's top against bottom in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this weekend as Rangers entertain Falkirk while Celtic are in action at Hamilton on Saturday lunchtime - live on ESPN.

Third-placed Hibernian have home advantage against St Mirren, Dundee United travel to Kilmarnock, Aberdeen host Motherwell and St Johnstone welcome Hearts to McDiarmid Park.

Aberdeen (6) v Motherwell (7) – Saturday, 3pm
Last five form: Aberdeen LWLWW Motherwell LLWWD

Aberdeen are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Motherwell although both games this season have been drawn – 0-0 at Pittodrie and 1-1 at Fir Park. The Dons are above their visitors on goal difference and are seeking a third straight SPL win. Motherwell have also been in good form, taking seven points out of nine under new manager Craig Brown, without conceding a goal.

Hamilton Accies (10) v Celtic (2) – Saturday, 12.30pm

Celtic have won all five previous Clydesdale Bank Premier League encounters, including a pair of 2-1 victories at New Douglas Park. Accies have failed to score in four of their last five SPL games since winning 2-1 at Aberdeen and are three points above bottom club Falkirk. Celtic have scored in each of their last 13 matches but have kept only three clean sheets in that period.

Hibernian (3) v St Mirren (9) – Saturday, 3pm

John Hughes’ men are looking for their third win in the space of a week after beating Hamilton and Celtic to return to third in the table. Hibs have won their last three home games against Saints, including a 2-1 victory in August, and have failed to net in just one SPL fixture at Easter Road.
St Mirren are on a run of six successive away defeats and have not scored in the last three.

Kilmarnock (11) v Dundee United (4) – Saturday, 3pm

Dundee United won 2-0 at Rugby Park earlier in the season before a 0-0 draw at Tannadice on Boxing Day. United have lost just once on the road - at Ibrox - and have been in good form under Peter Houston, who will stay in charge until the summer. Killie are a point above bottom club Falkirk but are still seeking their first SPL goal since the arrival of new boss Jimmy Calderwood.

Rangers (1) v Falkirk (12) – Saturday, 3pm

It’s top against bottom at Ibrox, where Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Hearts last weekend. Walter Smith’s men won at St Mirren in midweek to go 10 points clear at the summit. The Light Blues have won their last 11 matches against Falkirk in all competitions since the Bairns triumphed 1-0 in December 2006. Eddie May’s men are undefeated in their last three away matches.

St Johnstone (8) v Hearts (5) – Saturday, 3pm

Saints hold the upper hand this season, with a 2-1 win at Tynecastle after a 2-2 draw in Perth.
St Johnstone were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Dundee United in midweek and only the leading four clubs have scored more goals. Hearts saw their unbeaten run ended by Aberdeen but they have been solid on the road of late, winning at Falkirk and drawing at Hibs and Rangers.
